E-100 Super Heavy Tank – PROTOTYPE
Represent one of Germany’s most ambitious late-war armoured projects with the E-100 Super Heavy Tank from Blueprint to Print 3D. Conceived within the Entwicklungsserie, or E-series, programme, this imposing vehicle reflects the Wehrmacht’s pursuit of standardised armoured designs combined with exceptionally heavy protection and firepower.
Historical Role
The E-100 was intended as a super-heavy Panzer capable of supporting assaults against fortified positions and confronting the heaviest enemy armour. Its development formed part of a broader effort to rationalise German tank design through shared components and weight classes. The project remained unfinished as the war ended and never entered operational service. For this reason, the model carries the PROTOTYPE badge, identifying it as a late-war German project rather than a combat-deployed vehicle.
Distinctive Appearance
The E-100 is immediately recognisable by its immense, slab-sided hull, broad tracks and substantial suspension. Its high superstructure and proposed large turret create a powerful, top-heavy silhouette, while the long hull and heavy side protection emphasise its intended super-heavy role. These exaggerated proportions make it visually distinct from operational German Panzers and particularly striking beside conventional Second World War armour.
Modelling Uses
This model is ideal for late-war “what-if” dioramas, experimental Wehrmacht vehicle scenes and workshop or proving-ground displays. Smaller scales suit model railways and large wargaming displays, while the larger editions provide a commanding centrepiece for painters and collectors. It can also be paired with maintenance crews, transport equipment, ruined industrial settings or other E-series concepts.
Fun Fact
An unfinished E-100 chassis was discovered by British forces in Germany at the end of the war and was subsequently transported to the United Kingdom for examination, reinforcing the vehicle’s place as one of the best-known unrealised German super-heavy tank projects.
