M3A3 Stuart
Recreate one of America’s most recognisable World War II light tanks with this detailed M3A3 Stuart model from Blueprint to Print 3D. Developed as the final production version of the M3 light tank family, the M3A3 incorporated lessons learned from earlier Stuart variants and introduced a redesigned, fully welded hull with more sharply sloped armour.
Distinctive Design
The M3A3 Stuart stands out through its compact proportions, narrow tracks, angular welded hull and prominent turret. Its redesigned upper hull featured sloped front surfaces and roof-mounted crew hatches, giving it a cleaner, more modern appearance than earlier riveted M3 variants. The turret included a rear bustle used to accommodate radio equipment, creating another distinctive recognition feature.
Battlefield Role
Fast and manoeuvrable, the Stuart was designed for reconnaissance, screening and light support duties. Its mobility made it useful for scouting routes, protecting flanks and operating where heavier vehicles could be difficult to deploy. Although its light armour and armament limited its effectiveness against later enemy tanks, the M3A3 remained valuable in reconnaissance and infantry-support roles. It served with Allied forces in several theatres, including Europe, North Africa and Asia.

This model is ideal for World War II dioramas, military collections, model railways and historically themed layouts. Fun Fact
British and Commonwealth forces referred to the M3A3 as the Stuart V. The Stuart name honoured J. E. B. Stuart, a cavalry commander from the American Civil War, reflecting the light tank’s fast-moving reconnaissance role.
