Historical Role
The T-34 served as a medium tank and became a central element of Soviet armoured operations. Introduced before Germany’s invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, the design was progressively refined throughout the war, with later versions receiving improved turrets and heavier armament. The T-34 is immediately identifiable by its sharply sloped hull armour, broad tracks and prominent road wheels. Its low silhouette and angled glacis plate give the tank a purposeful profile, while the rounded turret forms associated with many production versions contrast with the geometric hull.
