Rather than showing troops in combat poses, this set focuses on the everyday work that kept German tanks operational.
The story behind the support crew
German tanks such as the Panzer IV, Panther, Tiger I and King Tiger required constant attention.
Tracks needed checking, engines needed servicing, fuel and lubricants had to be replenished, and minor faults had to be fixed before they became major problems.
Heavy tanks in particular placed enormous stress on their mechanical components. Crews often used every pause in movement to inspect the vehicle, tighten fittings, check running gear and prepare for the next move.
That makes maintenance scenes especially realistic for late-war German armour.

German armoured vehicles consumed large amounts of petrol, particularly the heavier Panthers and Tigers. Fuel drums, jerry cans and supply trucks were therefore an essential part of any armoured unit.
The drum-handling poses in this set work especially well for creating a refuelling or lubricant servicing scene beside a tank.

Painting suggestion
German tank crews were commonly associated with black Panzer uniforms, especially earlier in the war, while other field and working uniforms could also appear depending on unit, role and period.
For a maintenance scene, subtle dust, oil staining and grime on boots, knees and sleeves adds a lot of realism.
Fuel drums and tools also give you a chance to add chipped paint, rust and oily weathering.
